Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Roch, Chumkartau Mountains. D.A. Starshinin et al. (1994) from the composition of the Chumkartau suite (460, p. 96).

Synonym: Rochskaya Suite, Рочская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Claystone (argillites), siltstone (aleurolites) with interlayers of sandstones, gravelites, conglomerates, in the upper part, clayey and sandy limestones predominate. Thickness more than 100 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

With erosion and conglomerates at the base, it lies on the slates of the Garibak Fm

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by the dolomites of the Shingak Fm (460).

Regional extent

Chumkartau Mountains, Zarafshan River valley.
